Recruitment Pipeline in Odoo HR#
Hiring is a pipeline process - candidates move from application through screening, interviews, and offer. Odoo's Recruitment module manages this with a Kanban view, integrated email, and structured evaluation - all linked to the job position and HR records.
Setting Up Job Positions#
Recruitment → Job Positions → New:
- Job Position: Senior Odoo Consultant
- Department: IT / ERP Team
- Company: (for multi-company)
- Expected New Employees: 2 (target headcount)
- Recruiter: Sarah (HR Manager)
- Publish: toggle to show on website career page
Application Sources#
Candidates apply through:
- Website Career Page: auto-creates an application in Odoo
- Email Alias: jobs+consultant@yourcompany.com → application created from inbound email
- Manual Entry: HR adds candidates directly (from LinkedIn, referrals)
- Job Boards: Indeed, LinkedIn, etc. → import via CSV or integrations
Pipeline Stages#
Recruitment → Configuration → Stages:
- New Application
- Initial Screening
- Phone Interview
- Technical Interview
- HR Interview
- Offer Extended
- Hired / Refused
Customize stages per job position type (technical roles vs. sales roles may have different stages).
Kanban Pipeline View#
Recruitment → Applications → [Job Position] → Kanban view:
- Each candidate card shows: name, source, days in stage, next activity
- Drag cards between stages as candidates progress
- Color coding: green = active, orange = no recent activity, red = overdue
Candidate Evaluation#
After each interview:
Application → [Candidate] → Evaluation:
- Rate each criterion (0–3 stars): Technical Skills, Communication, Culture Fit, Problem Solving
- Add interview notes (visible to all interviewers)
The evaluation summary gives a structured basis for comparison - preventing selection by the most vocal interviewer.
Offer and Hire#
When ready to make an offer:
Application → [Candidate] → Generate Offer:
- Create a contract draft with salary, start date, job title
- Send for digital signature via Odoo Sign
- On acceptance: click Create Employee → application data becomes the employee record
Reporting on Recruitment#
Recruitment → Reporting → Applications:
- Time-to-hire by stage and job position
- Source effectiveness: which channel produces the most hires?
- Offer acceptance rate: % of offers accepted
- Cost per hire (if integrated with advertising spend tracking)
